Roughly 10 days ago we wrote that fring has opened up its platform allowing third-party developers to create the so called fringAdd-ons and additionally drive fring's functionality forward. The first batch of fringAdd-ons is now available and it includes Facebook, Gmail notifier, Orkut, vTap and Yandex.mail notifier. In order to give these apps a try, you'll need the latest version of fring (download from here) and afterwards manage them from "Options" -> "settings" -> "manage add-ons" and you're almost there…. The short, 3-minute video follows after the jump. ---

After going for the BlackBerry users, it's the iPhone time! My favorite media sharing application (and much more) ShoZu will be hitting iPhone in the near future. It has been added to the AppStore and once available iPhone users will be able to upload their image and video files to over 45 social networking sites like Flickr, Facebook and YouTube. Additionally, ShoZu makes it simple to update profile statuses, read and reply to comments, and download friends' photos. In a nutshell, ShoZu is one of those must-have apps for all social networking/social media junkies among us. More information is available on ShoZu's website and in the meantime you are free to check out the short video and find out what's coming soon to an iPhone near you. Enjoy! ---

LG is bringing the KF750 aka Secret back to its courtyard. Why it took them so long is a tricky question, but knowing that LG is one smart company, I'm certain there's a good reason for postponing the Korean release until now. As far as we know, the Korean version is identical to the Secrets we've seen launched in other parts of the world, and has the same 5 megapixel camera which can record video at 120 frames per second. The DivX-certified device also boasts a 2.4" QVGA screen, HSDPA support, Bluetooth, and microSD memory slot… [Via: Unwired View] ---

| HTC Touch Diamond, Touch Pro coming to Sprint, Verizon? Posted: 01 Jul 2008 05:09 AM CDT
Just when we reported that the HTC Touch Pro in CDMA flavor has been spotted at the FCC, another news item caught our eye. Apparently, Sprint and Verizon will get to carry both the Diamond and the Touch Pro. And while we're not sure about the release date at this stage, it seems to me both carriers are eager to announce the two smartphones as soon as they can. After all, they do want all those people who are eager to sign up for any of the quite expensive iPhone plans. And one thing is certain - neither the Diamond nor Touch Pro will be affordable and will require a decent plan. Once again, our eyes our wide open for any HTC related announcement, so stay tuned… [Via: Gizmodo, PhoneArena] ---

Everything started with Universal. After that, we saw EMI and SONY BMG joining Nokia's Comes With Music initiative, and now the Finnish giant announced that Warner Music Group also jumped on board. Under the agreement, the record company will not only participate in the Comes With Music scheme, but will also make its catalog of new stars and legendary artists available through Nokia Music Stores around the world. Commenting on the announcement, Edgar Bronfman, Jr., Warner Music Group's Chairman and CEO, said: "Through this innovative service and business model, all parties are equally driven to create the best and most comprehensive music offering designed to meet the ever-expanding consumer appetite for music and music-enabled devices." Comes With Music is expected to launch in H2 2008 on a range of Nokia devices in select markets. ---

| UK: MOTOROKR E8 now available - according to Moto! Posted: 01 Jul 2008 04:06 AM CDT We've mentioned the Motorokr E8 several times before on IntoMobile, but the bods at Moto were nice enough to send me an email yesterday telling me where I could buy it in the UK - and basically that boils down to Orange shops, O2 stores, and also the Carephone Warehouse stores. Just to remind ourselves, key specs are:

In addition, the 59MB heavy update also brings:

| PlayStation 3 theme for BlackBerry rocks! Posted: 01 Jul 2008 03:33 AM CDT
What we have here today is a new theme for select BlackBerry device owners. The so called PlayStation 3 theme for BlackBerry adds the so-much-needed playful touch to the 8300 and 8800 series, allowing you to handle your day-to-day mobile activities easier. Or at least, that's the way I feel about it. Virtually every single graphic has been customized and the UI looks like it was grabbed from the upcoming BlackBerry 9000. Rollover effects are especially nice and so are all the icons used. One thing I don't quite understand is why they haven't made it available for the Pearl owners, though that's not actually a downside but a developer's choice. The PS3 theme for BlackBerry is available for $7 at CrackBerry Shop and few more screenshots follow after the jump.

| HTC Touch Pro in CDMA flavor gets FCC approval Posted: 01 Jul 2008 03:19 AM CDT
Good news for our U.S. readers who lust to get their hands on the HTC's superphone and its ubiquitous keyboard. The CDMA version of HTC Touch Pro has been spotted passing the FCC hurdle, hinting us we may seen it hitting the Verizon's and Sprint's store shelves in the near future. The phone number "RAPH800" features CDMA with EV-DO on the 850 and 1900MHz bands, and all other cool things the original GSM-based Touch Pro has. That includes WiFi, uber-cool TouchFLO 3D user interface, VGA screen and more. With iPhone scheduled for launch within less than two weeks, it seems obvious the AT&T's competitors will want to push the HTC's super-baby out as soon as possible. We're watching closely… [Via: Engadget Mobile] ---

| Intel Atom to power Apple's next iPhone? Posted: 30 Jun 2008 05:17 PM CDT
A research note from JoAnne Feeney at FTN Midwest indicates that Apple's next iPhone may very well be powered by a processor from Intel's new Atom family of low-cost, low-power processors. Intel is reportedly "well ahead" in their development schedule for the Atom family of processors. We could see Intel debut their 32nm Atom chip at Intel Developers Forum in mid-August of this year. That would put Atom in line for applications in the next iPhone development cycle - likely aimed for a 2009 or 2010 launch. Of course, this is all speculation at this point. Still, it would be interesting to see an Intel Atom-powered iPhone in the near future. You know, just in time to breathe fresh new life in to a by-then aging iPhone 3G. [Via: SeekingAlpha] ---

| Hutchison Telecom's Three mobile network to offer iPhone rate plans starting at $24 Posted: 30 Jun 2008 05:00 PM CDT Following on their previous announcement that Hutchison Telecom's branded "3" wireless network will offer the iPhone in Hong Kong and Macau, the carrier has today announced its iPhone rate plan pricing schedule. Set to make AT&T iPhone 3G customers green with cashless-envy, Three will be offering their iPhone rate plans starting from just $24 ($188 HKD) per month. The lowest-tier calling plan offers 500 wireless minutes, 500 heart-to-hear minutes, 25 multimedia messages, 15 SMS text messages, 500 MB of data usage and unlimited Intra iPhone hopefuls looking to subscribe to 3's highest-tier calling plan will be asked to fork over $64 every month, in return for 2200 wireless minutes, 1500 heart-to-hear minutes, 150 multimedia messages, 50 SMS text messages, unlimited data usage and unlimited Intra SMS messages. The most expensive iPhone calling plan subsidizes the iPhone purchase to give customers a free 8GB iPhone or a 16GB iPhone for about $20 ($138 HKD). Now, let's consider 3's iPhone offerings compared to, oh, say Rogers' iPhone plans. 3 seems to have the right idea here. The lower iPhone calling plan tiers offer limited data plans while the higher-tier offerings include unlimited data use. Rogers might do well to take a page out of 3's marketing playbook.

| MetroPCS intros MetroFlash service to port Verizon and Sprint handsets Posted: 30 Jun 2008 04:41 PM CDT There's nothing like a little friendly carrier-rivalry to give entrenched incumbents a good jolt. Competition ends up benefiting the consumer, after all. So, what better way to eat in to CDMA competitors' giant wireless subscriber-base than to offer their customers a way to bring their CDMA Sprint or Verizon handsets to MetroPCS's network? MetroPCS has introduced their MetroFlash service, aimed at bringing Sprint and Verizon customers in to MetroPCS's flat-rate calling network. MetroFlash aims to While GSM customers (at least those with unlocked handsets) have been able to take their GSM handset from carrier to carrier with little regard for compatibility issues, MetroPCSs MetroFlash service is among the few CDMA-based offerings to attempt to replicate that same level of convenience. CDMA handsets deemed compatible with MetroPCS's network (read: tested by MetroPCS) can be "flashed" by MetroPCS to work on their CDMA network. Of course, the service is limited to CDMA handsets, as GSM handsets, like the iPhone, work on a completely different communications standard. The MetroFlash service offers eligible customers unlimited flat-rate wireless service for $40 a month - a particularly attractive proposition to Sprint and Verizon customers that don't leave their home-area often. The new service will only be offered in markets covered by MetroPCS's network, so make sure you can jump on the MetroPCS bandwagon before you tell Sprint or Verizon to bugger off. | FCC unveils Motorola 3G handset Posted: 30 Jun 2008 04:10 PM CDT
We can see that a front-facing video-call camera is in the cards for this unnamed Motorola 3G handset, and there's mention of Bluetooth in the testing docs. Strangely, GSM/EDGE was only tested on the 1900Mhz band, and there was mention of 3G capability - which could mean this latest Moto candybar is destined for a carrier like T-Mobile. But, our money (and hopes) are on Motorola looking toward a decidedly different design philosophy as they go forward. Now, if only Motorola could figure out how to enable 3G data connectivity in their upcoming Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5, they'd have a sure-fire winner in any market. [Via: Engadget Mobile] ---

| EA Games exec leaves to start iPhone gaming company - Ngmoco Posted: 30 Jun 2008 03:57 PM CDT
Young rose to fame at Electronics Arts as the development executive responsible for the millions-sold success of the titles like "Lord Of The Rings" and "Sims 2." After working on EA's next big-hit, "Spore," Young left the company to start Ngmoco. Ngmoco will make and publish games for the iPhone, pushing the iconic Apple handset as a gaming platform poised to redefine the industry. Young looks at the iPhone 3G and the AppStore as perfect platforms to give mobile gaming the boost that the industry has so badly needed for the past few years. But, that's not to say that the iPhone and Mac OS in the mobile space will be the end-all be-all in terms of rejuvenating the mobile gaming market. Young is also looking to Google's Android OS as another possible gaming platform worth developing for. Of course, we'll have to wait for the platform to officially hit the scene before it's viability as a gaming platform can be assessed. Good luck, Neil and Ngmoco. We're looking forward to mobile gaming of "Spore" caliber for the iPhone. [Via: VentureBeat] ---

Ngmoco is the newest mobile gaming start-up to hit the scene. With mobile gaming getting a renewed push from the iPhone, Neil Young decided it was time to leave his executive position at EA Games to form a new start-up aimed at making games exclusively for the iPhone. Apparently, a stagnated mobile games market was ripe for change and Young believes that "we are finally at the place where we can reinvent the experiences and the economics of the mobile games business." Young adds that the mobile gaming industry "has been stagnant for a few years. I feel the iPhone is a real opportunity to change that industry.'"
It was only a matter of time before Alltel's popular "My Circle" unlimited calling offering was opened up to allow for unlimited messaging. The CTIA has estimated that something like 363 billion SMS text messages had been sent out in 2007, and Alltel is looking to cash in on the texting craze.
